Creative Team

Devin Fei-fan Tau

Director | Producer

Devin is a gay, Asian-American filmmaker whose storytelling reflects his reaction to nearly four decades of cultural silence imposed on him by both his native and adopted cultures from his earliest years as an immigrant to the United States.

He's currently on his 3rd career, having first developed his financial and analytic skills in the corporate world, and then explored his eye for fashion and aesthetics in apparel merchandising.

This is Devin’s 3rd feature film — having released the documentary “Who’s on Top?” (2021) narrated by George Takei which is now available worldwide and the feature documentary, “The Road Home” (2022).

Degrees include: BS Business Administration from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business and AAS Video Production from Portland Community College - Cascade.

Joe Leone

He received Best Screenplay at the Sydney Indie Film Festival 2019 with "Meant to Be Broken," a bitingly dark comedy. Joe was a co-writer of the 2019 Nigerian action drama "Muna," with the follow-up "Chukora" in pre-production. He also wrote and directed "Death Sentences,""Blood Falls,""Parched 1 & 2," and the award-winning "Reap."

This is Joe’s 11th feature script.

Joe received a BS in Theatre Arts from Skidmore College.

J. Alexander Johnson

Screenwriter

J. Alexander Johnson, cut his writing teeth on short screenplays. Over the last two years he has written over fifteen short screenplays, including the award winning "The Golden West", a period drama featuring a unique 20th century hotel owned by and serving Black people.

Alexander's unique background makes him well-suited for Half-Sisters: having been raised in the predominantly Black city of Detroit, attended both a rural HBCU and a diverse inner-city university, with both Black and white familial ties, and having experienced the ugliness of racism first-hand.
